A 67-year-old man from Altha died in a crash on Highway 231 on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 231 and Harrington Road. A green Nissan Frontier carrying two passengers pulled off Harrington Road into the path of an oncoming semi on Highway 231. Troopers said the driver of the Frontier did not yield to traffic when he pulled off Harrington Road.
The front of the semi crashed into the left side of the Nissan Frontier.
FHP says Bay County deputies arrived and tried to give first aid, but the driver was trapped, and they could not get him out.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers were in the Frontier, a 39-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child. Both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The semi driver sustained minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol, Bay County Sheriff’s Office and Bay County Emergency Services (fire rescue and EMS) were at the scene of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating this crash.
