Baby, 3 others injured in crash on SR-528 in Brevard County

Four people, including a 6-month-old baby, were taken to a hospital Wednesday night after a crash on State Road 528 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. just before State Road 407.

According to troopers, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata was heading east on S.R. 528 when the driver, a 25-year-old Palm Bay woman, veered off the road and reentered the lanes, in the path of an oncoming 2024 Jeep Wagoneer.

The two vehicles collided and went off the roadway, the FHP said.

The Hyundai driver and her passengers, a 24-year-old Palm Bay woman, the baby and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital, the FHP said. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The other driver, a 59-year-old Massachusetts man, was not injured and remained at the scene, according to troopers.

An investigation is ongoing.
