Barge catches fire in Englewood Friday morning

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. —

A barge being used to build a dock caught on fire in the early morning of April 25.

The fire was reported on Eagle Preserve Drive before sunrise around 5:30 a.m.

The blaze ignited wooden planks and pilings being stored on the barge’s deck

No one was hurt, and no buildings were damaged.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the fire marshal.
