A male bicyclist is critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck in Santa Rosa County on Thursday night.
Troopers say the incident occurred on U.S. 90, west of County Road 197A, around 6:45 p.m. when the bicyclist traveled north across the westbound lanes from the south shoulder of U.S. 90, while the pickup truck, driven by a 32-year-old Jay man, was traveling east in the inside lane and collided with the bicyclist.
The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were unharmed, according to FHP.
The injured bicyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment. FHP reported that he was not wearing a helmet.
