Bicyclist dies after car and bike crash in Panama City Beach

A woman has died from her injuries after a traffic crash on Monday.

Around 3:25 p.m., a Ford F-150 pickup was reportedly traveling north on Churchwell Drive while a female on a bicycle was traveling west on the south sidewalk of Hutchison Boulevard.

Officials say at some point, the bicyclist, Rebecca Lynne Pohler, approached the intersection and entered the crosswalk, and the truck began its right-hand turn and hit the pedestrian.

Pohler was transferred to the hospital and ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Police say neither alcohol nor speed was believed to be a factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.

A bicyclist has critical injuries after authorities say they were involved in an accident on Monday.

According to Panama City Beach officials, the accident happened at 3:30 p.m. between a bicycle and a car on Middle Beach Road near the post office.

The bicyclist was transported to Ascension Bay.

At this time, traffic is being directed to Churchwell Road while the area is cleared.
