The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 195 in Miami.
According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, the crash occurred just after 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-195, in the area of Alton Road.
He said a white Ford sedan struck an electric bicycle that was being ridden by two people.
Both bicyclists were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where one later died.
The other remains in critical condition.
The eastbound lanes of the roadway were closed into the morning rush hour at Biscayne Boulevard.
