A bicyclist was killed in DeSoto County on Thursday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van was driving north along US 17 near Southwest Skates Street around 7:18 p.m.
A 40-year-old man riding a bicycle got into the north lane as the van was approaching.
FHP states the front of the van crashed into the bicyclist.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
