Bicyclist killed in Lee County crash.

A woman riding a bicycle was killed in a crash along US-41 in Lee County on Tuesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), around 8:30 p.m., a woman driving a pickup truck was in the outside lane of northbound US-41, nearing the intersection of Judd Road.

A 38-year-old Lehigh Acres woman was riding a bicycle and crossing the intersection when FHP states the front of the truck crashed into her.

Another car crashed into the bicycle but fled the scene.

FHP states the woman was separated from the bicycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation.
