Bicyclist killed in Melbourne crash

A person on a bicycle was killed after being hit by a car Thursday morning in Brevard County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened at North Wickham Road and Stadium Parkway in Melbourne.

The intersection is closed.

FHP said it involved a 90-year-old driver and a 77-year-old on a bicycle.

The driver told troopers they had a green light when they drove through the intersection, and that’s when the person on the bicycle rode in front of the car and was hit.

A witness confirmed the driver in the car had a green light.

The driver was not injured, FHP said.
