Three boats were damaged by fire at a Madeira Beach marina on Thanksgiving Day, local fire officials said.
The fire sent a large plume of smoke into the air above the boat slips along Gulf Boulevard.
Madeira Beach Deputy Fire Chief John Mortillite told ABC7 that two boats were “fully involved” when units arrived on the scene shortly before 2 p.m.
Those two boats were totally destroyed; a third boat nearby also caught fire but it was unclear how much damage it sustained, Mortillite said.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
Mortillite said about 20 units from five departments were involved in fighting the fires, which took about two hours to bring under control.
The investigation is continuing.
