Deputies say a Boca Raton man held a woman captive, attacked her and fired a gun during a prolonged domestic incident before she was able to get help and escape.
A Boca Raton man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he held a woman captive for hours, violently assaulted her and fired a gun inside a home during a prolonged domestic incident.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, K, 63, was arrested June 21 following an investigation into what deputies describe as a nearly 24-hour ordeal involving domestic violence and threats to kill.
The incident came to light when the victim’s daughter contacted law enforcement after receiving an urgent message from her mother.
Investigators say the message instructed her to remove other family members from the home, warning that K had the victim trapped in a bedroom and was threatening to kill her.
Once the house was cleared, the daughter coordinated with deputies, who responded and were ultimately able to get K out of the room, allowing the victim to escape safely.
According to a sworn statement, the incident began on the morning of June 20 and escalated throughout the day and overnight.
The victim told deputies that while the two were talking and drinking, K’s behavior became erratic and aggressive. Investigators say he used a Taser on the victim multiple times, then beat and choked her during a violent altercation.
Authorities allege K then tied the victim to a chair using rope and straps, binding her hands and legs and wrapping rope around her neck while continuing to threaten her life.
At another point, deputies say K forced her onto a bed and held a revolver to her head, threatening to kill her.
Investigators say K fired the gun inside the room, although the victim was not struck.
The incident continued with fluctuating periods of violence and calm, including drinking alcohol and using drugs, before the victim was eventually able to secretly contact her daughter the following morning.
The victim was treated at a hospital, where deputies observed multiple injuries, including bruising, swelling, abrasions on her wrists and ankles consistent with being bound, and damage to her teeth.
Investigators said the injuries were consistent with her account of the attack.
K was taken into custody and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
