The state fire marshal is investigating a fire that left a two-story Bokeelia home badly burned on Thursday morning.
Matlacha Pine Island Fire Rescue responded to the scene on Mannheim Road around 11 a.m.
According to the fire chief, no one was in the structure at the time of the fire.
Four total engines responded to the fire, using 4,000 gallons of water in less than 10 minutes.
Flames were reported to be about 30 feet in the air. The front of the house suffered burn damages.
