Bonifay woman ejected from SUV, dies at scene in Walton County crash

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Walton County on Sunday.

The crash, which happened on County Road 185, 300 feet west of Padgett Farm Road, involved a 36-year-old woman from Bonifay, Florida, driving an SUV.

Troopers said the SUV was traveling westbound on County Road 185 when the vehicle drifted onto the north shoulder. The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to overturn.

According to a news release, as the vehicle was turning, the driver was ejected.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers confirmed.

The SUV came to a final rest on its roof on the south shoulder of the road.
