Bonita Springs man accused of attacking guest, swinging skillet, and making death threat

A man was arrested early Thursday morning in Bonita Springs after being accused of attacking another man and threatening a woman with a skillet during an argument.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies said EJD, 45, fell asleep at the victim’s home. The female victim then invited two men over to help with a renovation project while he was asleep.

When D woke up and saw the two men at her home, the report states D became very upset.

Witnesses told deputies that D punched one of the men before grabbing a skillet and swinging it at the woman, narrowly missing her.

She told deputies she feared for her life when D allegedly said, “Call the cops; I will kill you.”

The man who was struck ran outside, and D left the scene before deputies arrived, according to the report.

The woman later provided a sworn statement to law enforcement, stating that D had a history of jealousy and aggression.

Deputies later tracked D to a shed behind a residence and took him into custody.

He was booked into the Lee County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
