Box truck bursts into flames at Fort Myers Wawa gas station

A box truck caught on fire at a Wawa gas station in Fort Myers on Thursday morning.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the gas pumps were shut down and people evacuated the building at 2370 Colonial Boulevard.

The Fort Myers Fire Department said the box truck fire was put out and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A massive plume of smoke could be seen coming from the gas station.

The fire department said crews are waiting for the truck to cool to investigate.
