A 15-year-old boy who was found shot in Margate late Monday was rushed to the hospital, according to police.

The teen was shot at the intersection of Rock Island Road and Forest Boulevard, authorities said.

The victim was taken to Broward General Hospital, “where he was alert and taken into surgery.”

Police are working to determine why the minor was shot.
