A Brightline train collided with a Delray Beach Fire Rescue ladder truck Tuesday morning near East Atlantic Avenue and Railroad Avenue, injuring 15 people, including three firefighters.

According to Delray Beach Police, the crash happened at 10:45 a.m. Saturday. The three firefighters were taken to a hospital and are stable.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue helped transport 12 train passengers with minor injuries to the hospital.

An investigation into the cause of the collision is being conducted by Delray Beach Police, Brightline officials, and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Brightline officials have yet to respond to inquiries about the incident.

This incident adds to Brightline’s safety concerns as the NTSB is already investigating two earlier crashes at the same crossing along its Miami-to-Orlando route. Those collisions, which occurred earlier this year, resulted in three fatalities.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
