Three adults who were sleeping in their Spring Hill home were saved by a good Samaritan after the house caught fire Friday morning.

According to Hernando County Fire Rescue, a bystander, who was out walking, saw flames shooting out of a front window. They were able to use a garden hose to knock the fire down.

Inside the home were three adults, who had been sleeping.

Fire crews responded to the home in the 3200 block of Harrow Road in Spring Hill just after 7 a.m., to find smoke in a front window.

“A HUGE Thank You to the unknown bystander whose quick actions saved 3 lives!” HCFR said.

HCFR said the home had significant damage to the front living room, as well as smoke damage throughout. However, the smoke rendered the home unlivable.

Thankfully, there were no injuries, and the American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

Officials determined the cause of the fire to be electrical.
