A man from Cape Coral has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a suspect was downloading and viewing child sexual abuse material.
Detectives interviewed 32-year-old Alejandro Mendoza Blanco, who initially denied all involvement. An investigation resulted in a search warrant at Blanco’s residence.
On Tuesday, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Special Victims Unit detectives executed the search warrant and found Blanco inside his Cape Coral home.
The investigation found Blanco in possession of child sexual abuse material.
Blanco is in the Lee County Jail charged with possession of sexual performance by a child and possession or promotion of certain images of child pornography.
