Car crash cuts power to 2,000 in Lake Worth Beach

A car struck a utility pole on South Congress Avenue early Saturday morning briefly knocking out 2,000 Lake Worth Beach residents’ power.

According to the City of Lake Worth Beach, 45% of those residents had their power restored within seconds due to system upgrades.

The collision occurred at 5 a.m. and by 7 a.m. power was restored to 95% of the the affected customers.

In a morning social media post the City of Lake Worth Beach said crews will remain onsite until all power is restored.
