OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — A call about a car crash escalated into a shooting investigation early Saturday morning, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene on Racetrack Road around 3:30 a.m., where they discovered a crashed van near 218 Racetrack Road.
However, neither the driver nor any passengers were present at the scene.
Deputies say they found evidence indicating that a person who was bleeding had jumped a nearby fence.Shortly thereafter, a man from the Fort Walton Beach area was located at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, according to OCSO.
