Car flips, one sent to hospital after two car crash in Fort Myers

Fort Myers Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Palm Beach Blvd. and Oasis Way Sunday morning before sunrise.

Officers told WINK News the crash involved at least two cars, and one person had to be taken to the hospital. According to authorities, one person has been arrested.

The crash is under active investigation. Palm Beach Blvd. was initially shut down, but traffic is once again moving through the area.

WINK News reporter Ashley French spoke with the victim who was driving in the silver car, Sammy Santos.

Santos told WINK he was on his way to work when the crash occurred, and his life flashed before his eyes.

“I know there’s a lot of wrecks. I drive down it every day I see wrecks all the time, its just you never think it’s going to be you.” Santos said. “If I would’ve the turn the steering wheel a little bit, it would have been a straight on collision, I probably wouldn’t be standing here.”

Santos was transported to the hospital after the crash and currently has several bruises on his leg and chest as a result.
