Car smashes into Jensen Beach bike shop, destroying inventory

A Jensen Beach bike shop got an unexpected drive-thru customer Saturday when a car smashed into the building.

Deputies with Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Martin County Fire Rescue rushed to the scene at Bikes Plus on NE Jensen Beach Boulevard after a vehicle plowed directly into the storefront.

Fortunately, first responders confirmed that no one was injured during the incident. However, the store’s inventory did not fare as well. Several bicycles inside the shop took the brunt of the impact, suffering severe damage, and are currently believed to be a total loss.

Authorities have not yet released details on what led up to the collision. The official cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
