A 36-year-old man died and a woman was injured Sunday after a wrong-way crash in Miami Shores with a 41-year-old man who was driving home after an 11-hour date in which he was drinking on and off, according to police. A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in Miami, authorities confirmed. According to Miami police, the incident was reported at 11:18 p.m. in the area of Northwest 12th Avenue and 45th Street. Police said officers arrived at the scene to find a man who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. A crash in the Avon Park area sent three people to the hospital as trauma alerts, according to Polk County Fire Rescue. Casselberry police officers responded to the intersection of State Road 436 and Fern Park Blvd. late Friday evening after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.  Upon arrival, they found a 51-year-old woman unresponsive in the middle of westbound traffic on SR-436. Two 24-year-old parents brought their 6-month-old to Homestead Hospital in cardiac arrest Sunday afternoon; doctors found that the baby had no pulse and signs of severe child abuse, according to police.
