Two people have been arrested in Manatee County after a body was found in the trunk of a car early Sunday morning. According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Palmetto Police officers were patrolling the Palmetto Estuary Nature Preserve when they found the body of Manuel Escobar in the vehicle. An Atlanta man accused of shooting two people inside a Deltona, Florida home last week has been arrested near Detroit, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. In a Facebook post, VSO said Malik J. McKenzie, 29, of Dallas, Georgia, was arrested on Saturday by police in Southfield, Michigan, a suburb outside of Detroit. A 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested last week and accused in connection with a shooting that left a family’s dog dead. An arrest report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office showed Nathan Kizer was arrested Wednesday after investigators found him in a car that was seen around the time of the shooting in the Lake Forest neighborhood on Aug. 15. Fort Walton Beach police say they are investigating after a motorcyclist was reportedly killed in a crash on Saturday.
