A train struck a car in Lantana on Tuesday morning, but the driver was able to get of the vehicle, authorities said. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said emergency crews responded to Hypoluxo Road between South Federal Highway and East Coast Avenue just after 7:15 a.m. When crews arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle was outside the car and walking around. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a man who ran up behind a bicyclist and slung a machete. Deputies arrested 40-year-old Andrew Shattuck. The incident happened around lunchtime on Friday along Collingswood Boulevard and Cedarwood Street. An arrest report says Shattuck approached the biker shouting racist and homophobic slurs, then slung a machete at him. The American Red Cross reported thatvolunteers from the Palm Beach Treasure Coast Chapter responded to a house fire on Southeast Marydale Terrace in the Riverview neighborhood. Officials stated that the disaster-trained team provided emergency aid to two people who were impacted by the fire. A Port Richey resident was arrested after he led troopers on a roughly seven-mile chase down U.S. 19 on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.  Aaron Springhart, 32, was arrested after crashing his vehicle. One of the three teens who was shot Sunday evening at a Spring Hill apartment complex has died, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Three teens were shot at the Mariner’s Cay Apartments and then were driven to a nearby Publix, deputies said. A 16-year-old was taken to a hospital and later died. A Pennsylvania woman is suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts after she was allegedly pushed over during a “stampede” at the resort’s Magic Kingdom park in Florida, leaving her with permanent injuries. The woman, Debra O’Steen, said the park was “packed” and “extremely busy” when the incident occurred. A 55-year-old man is facing a felony charge in South Florida for a bizarre impersonation scheme that left pizza customers getting a raw deal, authorities said. Police said he ran “an elaborate scheme to defraud tourists staying in the hotels of Miami Springs” by pretending to be a well-known local pizza parlor.  A woman suffering from dementia and identified as a “fall risk” was allegedly ignored, disregarded, and permitted to fall to her death at the Barrington Terrace nursing facility in Boynton Beach. The company running the facility is now on the receiving end of a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
