Chabad of Charlotte County fire being investigated as a criminal act


A structure fire that occurred at Chabad of Charlotte County on West Henry Street in Punta Gorda on Friday night is being investigated as a criminal act.

According to the Punta Gorda Police Department, officers and crews from the Punta Gorda Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire late Friday evening in Charlotte County.

PGPD said that due to the circumstances surrounding the fire and evidence located at the scene, officers have launched an investigation into the fire, suspecting that it may be criminal in nature.

PGPD said the investigation is active and ongoing and asks anyone with information to call the PGPD at 941-639-4111.
