A Charlotte County deputy is recovering after a firearm discharge at a sheriff’s office training event.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was participating in an annual firearms training at the CCSO firing range on Tuesday morning. The sheriff’s office said his agency-issued firearm unintentionally discharged, striking him in the leg.
His injury was not life-threatening, and he was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
