A child was hospitalized after being struck by multiple vehicles on Sunday, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
Police said the child was trying to cross Sarno Road in Melbourne while the light was green around 12:46 p.m.
As a result, the child was struck by a vehicle in the curb lane of eastbound Sarno Road. The impact pushed the child into the second lane, where they were hit again.
The child was eventually knocked into the grass on the south side of Sarno Road, police said.
The Brevard County Fire Rescue transported the child to Sarno Plaza because of concerns about their injuries. They then took the child to a hospital in Orlando.
At this time, the child appears to be stable, police said.
The Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating this crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Livingston at 321-288-8288.
