A child was hospitalized after his bicycle collided with a car on Tuesday in Fort Pierce.
The collision happened at around 4:34 p.m. near Sunrise Boulevard, the Fort Pierce Police Department says. The crash caused for the northbound and southbound lanes on Sunrise Boulevard to close.
When officers arrived at the scene made contact with the driver of the car and the 12-year-old boy.
The 12-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, and the driver of the sedan stayed on scene and cooperated with the officer’s investigation, police say.
FPPD says that at approximately 6:38 p.m., the lanes reopened.
