A Chipley woman was arrested Friday for allegedly crashing a UTV under the influence, causing serious injuries to another.
According to court documents, shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 3, 26-year-old JBP was driving a UTV on Gainer Road when she crashed.
Washington County Sheriff deputies said as a result, the passenger, a local teacher, Katelyn Faith King, was ejected from the UTV.
King was airlifted to a hospital in Dothan with significant bodily injury that included two fractures to her head and two fractures to her neck at the base of her skull.
P was transported to a local hospital by personal vehicle for her injuries.
P has been charged with driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing serious bodily injury to another.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help with King’s medical expenses, rehabilitation costs and daily needs. The fund has raised more than $20,700.
