Firefighters were dispatched to a Clearwater apartment early Saturday morning after flames erupted out of a unit on the second story.
Clearwater Fire & Rescue received reports of a residential fire on Scranton Avenue around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
When crews arrived, flames could be seen bursting out of the top of the two-story apartment building. Firefighters said they determined that the fire began in an upstairs unit.
Crews were able to put out the fire, and said there were no injuries to anyone in the upstairs apartment or the one below.
As of Saturday afternoon, the cause of the fire was still under investigation. Clearwater Fire & Rescue inspectors, along with Clearwater Police arson detectives were at the scene.
No further details were immediately available.
