Clermont man dies after Porsche rollover crash in Lake County

A 36-year-old Clermont man died early Sunday morning after his vehicle struck two trees and overturned in Lake County.

The crash occurred at 2:12 a.m. as the man was driving a 2007 Porsche Boxster northbound on Greater Hills Boulevard, just north of Charter Oaks Trail, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left and struck a curb. The Porsche then continued in a northwesterly direction and crashed into two trees, causing the vehicle to overturn and land on its roof.

The driver, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by the FHP.
