Collier County Sheriff’s Office vehicle involved in deadly Ave Maria crash

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after a two-vehicle crash in Ave Maria left one 59-year-old Naples woman dead.

The crash happened along Oil Well Road about a mile and a half west of Arthrex Commerce Drive.

According to FHP, one of the vehicles involved was an unmarked Collier County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The CCSO vehicle was parked on the emergency lane.

Reports say the woman who died was in a Toyota Rav 4 and veered left and collided head-on with the CCSO vehicle.

According to FHP, the woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
