Construction worker injured during crane accident in Gulf Stream

GULF STREAM, Fla. — In a construction site mishap, a construction worker sustained severe injuries as a crane toppled into the Intracoastal Waterway.

According to the Delray Beach Fire Rescue, the incident unfolded when a construction worker attempted to jump from the crane, which subsequently fell over into the waterway. The crane was situated on a barge when the accident occurred, near the 500 block of Banyan Road.

Swift response teams, including Delray Beach Police Department’s Marine Unit, rushed to the scene to provide assistance. The injured worker was transported to Delray Beach Medical Center for medical treatment.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue has confirmed that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
