Gulf Coast News is looking into a crash which our crews say was an attempted hit-and-run, with at least a dozen Fort Myers police officers responding.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Winkler Avenue and Fowler Street.
When the crash happened, our crews saw one of the drivers try to flee in a white van, leading officers to stop traffic to chase the driver.
Police were able to stop the driver, but it is unclear who that person is or if they are facing charges.
Fire and EMS crews were also at the crash.
The other driver’s blue SUV had significant damage to the front end, but it is unknown if anyone was injured in this crash.
This is a developing story
