Couple arrested in high-speed chase after car stolen from Ocala gas station.

A couple was arrested after a vehicle was reported stolen at an Ocala gas station over the weekend, according to the police department.

Police said that around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, the stolen car was reported from a Wawa gas station along West Silver Springs Boulevard.

In a release, police said that the stolen car was later found driving near the 2100 block of West Silver Springs Boulevard, and officers began to chase it down.

The car reached speeds of around 60 mph, though it eventually crashed in the 700 block of Southwest 24th Avenue, the release shows.

Two suspects — Jahaziel Olmo, 28, and Karlamaris Rivera, 24 — were ultimately found and arrested in the nearby woods, according to investigators. Detectives said that Rivera had been driving the stolen vehicle.

Rivera faces charges of grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, not having a driver’s license, and fleeing and eluding. She is held on bond of $11,000.

Meanwhile, Olmo faces charges of resisting arrest and grand theft. He is held on bond of $3,000.

According to police, both Rivera and Olmo were treated for their injuries before being taken to jail.
