An investigation into a single-vehicle crash has snarled traffic in The Villages.
A car was northbound at about 8:30 a.m. Monday on Buena Vista Boulevard when it left the roadway, crossed over the multi-modal path and hit a tree. The motorist who appeared to be alone in the vehicle was said to be “unresponsive.”
Traffic was being directed away from Buena Vista Boulevard at El Camino Real near Savannah Center.
The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Community Watch and The Villages Public Safety Department were also at the scene.
