All northbound lanes of I-295 were blocked at Merrill Road in Arlington on Tuesday evening due to a crash.
Traffic cameras showed drivers in the area dealing with significant delays in the area bear Monument Road and Southside Boulevard.
It is unclear if any injuries occurred as a result of the crash.
Around 8:30 p.m., traffic could be seen slowly moving through the area, but various cop cars and traffic markers were still present, indicating that the investigation into the matter was still ongoing.
Around 9 p.m., the traffic alert had been cleared and the roadway appeared to be operating normally again.
