The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported a fatal traffic crash that happened around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday near Bulls Bay Highway.
According to the JSO, an elderly woman was driving a Toyota pickup truck south on Bulls Bay Highway when a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Ocala Avenue.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Toyota, causing the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue took the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.
The Toyota driver stopped at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Bulls Bay Highway at Ocala Avenue remained closed as detectives continue their investigation.
This incident marks the 129th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 32nd involving a motorcyclist.
