Crestview man, killed in single-vehicle accident

A 60-year-old Crestview man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his car ran off Airport Road and went airborne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was driving a sedan eastbound on Airport Road near Fairchild Road in Okaloosa County around 4:15 p.m. when the vehicle left the north shoulder of the roadway. The car went airborne before coming to rest in front of a home.

FHP says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, but troopers stated that next of kin have been notified.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
