Crews battle warehouse fire at recycling facility in Fort Myers

A fire erupted at a recycling facility along Veronica S. Shoemaker Boulevard, between Hanson Street and Winkler Avenue, in Fort Myers.

According to Fort Myers Fire Department Chief Tracy McMillion, a warehouse and vehicle caught fire.

McMillion told Gulf Coast News that there were no reported injuries and that all workers inside the structure were accounted for.

He also said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to an FMFD Facebook post, the fire is out, and crews cleared the scene after battling the intense flames for over two hours.
