Crowbar attack in Marion home lands 21-year-old in jail

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery after he allegedly attacked another man with a crowbar inside a Marion County home.

On Wednesday, September 25, a Marion County deputy made contact with the male victim who advised that he was attacked while sitting inside a friend’s home in Ocklawaha two days earlier, according to the arrest report.

The victim stated that he was sitting in a chair when another man, identified as Timothy Christopher Walker, struck the back of his head with a crowbar. According to the victim, he was not in any type of argument with Walker prior to the “unprovoked” attack.

In the report, the deputy noted that the victim was hospitalized for two days while receiving treatment for his injuries, which included a laceration on his head and “multiple other neck related injuries.” The deputy observed a two-inch gash on the back of the victim’s head that was “glued shut,” and the victim was wearing a neck brace.

The victim had video surveillance footage of the incident, which showed him sitting in a chair at the incident location. The report stated that on the footage, Walker is observed approaching the victim from behind while wielding a crowbar in his hands.

Walker then allegedly raised the crowbar up before striking the back of the victim’s head. The victim fell out of the chair, and he was struck by the crowbar a second time as he attempted to run away, according to the report.

The victim told the deputy that Walker often frequents the home where the incident occurred. Deputies located Walker at the residence on Wednesday evening, and he was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail.

Walker is currently being held at the jail on a $15,000 bond. He is being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
