Cyclist dead after being hit by sedan in Alachua County

 A man is dead after being hit by a sedan while riding his bicycle late Wednesday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, a man was riding his bicycle westbound on Northeast State Road 26 just after 9:30 p.m.

A 33-year-old man from Gainesville was driving his sedan in the same direction when he hit the man on the bike.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
