Cyclist dead after colliding with pickup truck in Collier County

A man is dead after a pickup truck collided with a bicyclist on CR-951 and 17th Avenue SW in Golden Gate on Tuesday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 6:45 p.m. where they said the crash involved a 44-year-old Naples man and a 49-year-old male cyclist.

According to FHP, the bicyclist was critically injured after colliding with the pickup truck.

The cyclist was reportedly taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead from injuries.

FHP said the incident remains under investigation, and further details have not been released at this time.
