Juan and Michelle Chiari are left with little more than gratitude after a fire tore through their Davie home last week.
Sky 10 captured flames bursting through the roof as the fire consumed the house.
“All the smoke was coming out of the attic and the loft and I just panicked,” said Juan. “I called 911. I had to get the dog out because the house was getting filled with smoke.”
The couple lost everything—Michelle’s art studio and Juan’s photography gear — just months after he retired from his job with the U.S. Army.
“Thank God nothing happened to us, but losing all your stuff is hard,” Michelle said.
Though devastated, the Chiaris say they’re grateful to have each other.
