Deadly crash shuts down westbound College Parkway in Lee County

A deadly crash has shut down a Lee County road on Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at around 5:15 a.m., a 35-year-old woman driving a Kia Rio was traveling west on College Parkway in Lee County, approaching the intersection of Premiere Boulevard.

The woman then traveled off the roadway to the south, entered the center median of College Parkway, and crashed into a tree, FHP said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westbound lanes of College Parkway were shut down at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
