At least one person is dead after a hit-and-run early morning crash along Winkler Avenue in Fort Myers Monday.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the suspect ran off after the crash. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
FMPD had lanes of Winkler Avenue from Metro Parkway to Evans Avenue blocked off. This was in front of the Village Creek apartments.
Eastbound and westbound lanes are now open.
Our crews saw a green motorcycle destroyed in the road, as well as a body.
A silver BMW was in the grass, where it appears the motorcycle slammed into the passenger side door.
A tow truck was seen at the scene.
This is a developing story.
