Deadly Pensacola hit-and-run under investigation — do you have information?

The Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Investigations unit is investigating a deadly hit-and-run in Pensacola.

According to an FHP news release, a man was found “gravely injured” at 4:38 a.m. on Dec. 21 in the north parking lot of JCPenney at 7171 N. Davis Highway.

FHP investigators said the incident occurred between 2 and 4:30 a.m. that day.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to FHP, who said his injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

FHP officials said no evidence was located on the scene to identify a suspect.

According to FHP, this was the parking lot where semi-trucks and commercial vehicles park.

FHP wants to speak with witnesses who may have more information on the incident and can identify any of the trucks parked there at the time.

Anyone with information can contact FHP Cpl. J. McLeod at 850-960-8216.
