A delivery driver put a 4-month-old child back in their stroller after striking the mother’s vehicle before fleeing the scene, according to Miami-Dade police.
On Thursday morning, the police department said a mother was crossing the intersection of Northeast 7th Avenue and Northeast 191 Street in Miami, pushing her son in a stroller while walking her dog, when she was struck by a delivery driver.
The 30-year-old mom was knocked down, and the child was ejected from his stroller, landing on the road.
According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, the woman suffered a brain bleed from the collision.
Police said the driver, Sarahy Naybeth Parra-Ovalles, 45, got out of the vehicle, set the stroller upright, and put the infant back in, before driving off.
The mother and baby were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Parra-Ovalles was arrested Friday on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
